Requirement

The client is a global insurance provider with 500+ offices across geographies. Of these, only 30% branches/offices performed satisfactorily while the rest were underperforming. The company needed a tool that its senior management could use to review their strategy and devise a better strategy to increase profitability.

   

Project Brief

The requirement was to create an effective training tool that could be used to devise smarter strategies for sales performance, predictability and growth in profitability quarter on quarter. The decision makers also needed to keep in mind that the image and reputation of the company in the market needed to be maintained.

   

Technical

The WITS team brainstormed and a game based learning tool; a business simulation that allowed the users to see the impact of adopting various strategies Ex: Reduction in the number of branch offices, Restructuring the product portfolio, Changing the marketing strategy, Training the salespeople, Restructuring re-imbursals and salaries, Reduction in workforce and Outsourcing some functions. The users were offered an interactive matrix of the above criteria and the senior management could play around with the above and see the business impact of decisions involving a particular strategy in a risk-free virtual world. Since the design was a game, an irreverent, fun way of applying experience and knowledge to get to a winning strategy; it was a fun , stress-free tool for the management to brainstorm on changes in strategy that could meet the goals of increasing profitability.

   

Completion

The module was a complex decision tree that allowed the senior management to evaluate the impact of various decisions and strategies upon the business.
